About Us

Vision

Hope Survivors Foundation intends to contribute to building a world free of genocide and other crimes against humanity, a world where Rwandan survivors are supported.

Mission

  • To assist genocide survivors who live with physical and psychological trauma resulting from genocide both in UK and Rwanda (where extreme poverty and health conditions make life unbearable), with a special reference to widows and orphans.
  • To raise awareness among the British public, and among the youth in particular, about the horror of genocide and the need to remain vigilant in a world where ideologies of hatred continue to proliferate.
  • To keep alive and honour the memory of the victims of the 1994 genocide
  • To fight impunity by denouncing and bring to justice genocide perpetrators hiding in UK

Guiding Principles

  • Maintaining a full commitment to long-term sustainable development initiatives which are appropriate to survivors’ needs
  • Implementing development processes which are based on the assessment of survivors’ needs, and which incorporate appropriate input from all participating levels
  • Promoting effective communication throughout our network
  • Improving our public profile through ongoing public awareness programmes
  • Making effective and efficient use of resources entrusted to us by openly accounting for our work and evaluating our effectiveness, thereby minimising the administrative cost associated with the Hope Survivors Foundation.
  • Committing to enlarging our support base among individual, corporate, and governmental entities, matching our expansion to correspond to managerial, technical and survivors capacities and organisational maturity.
